“First, the bowling alley. Then the skating rink followed by too much time playing skee ball at the arcade. I’m seeing a pattern.”

Asher’s on her back. We’re in her bed. It’s ten by the time I’m done helping Galley at the house.

“What kind of pattern?” Gleaming smile. Small fingers in my hair pulling me close.

“Family-owned. Serves the community. Tight-knit group of small business owners. They help one another though they’re competitors for the same customers,” I say.

“You scratch my back, I scratch yours?” I hold my weight off her. Nuzzle her neck. “Mi casa es su casa?” Inhale her clean scent. Soapy with a hint of lilacs.

“My house is your house? Seriously, you speak Spanish?”

“Un poco.”

She laughs. Pushes me onto my back. Straddles me. I run my gaze over her hot, little body. Royal blue tank top and matching short shorts.

“Completely mine to own.”

“I can see that.” She stares at my mouth. “Fess up. Where did you learn to speak un poco de español?”

“From the guys I worked with in construction. They were cool, putting up with a punk like me commiserating with them.”

Her eyes widen. “You and your big words.”

I anchor my hands on her waist. Bring her forward. “Something bigger than my words requires your attention,” I whisper next to her ear. “Right about here.”

I settle her hand on my crotch.

“Let’s finish this kissing game of ours, Asher. You kiss me from head to toe and I reciprocate.”

I’m digging that word. Want to continue reciprocating with Asher Tran.

“With our clothes on. We kiss over our clothes.”

“You’re serious.”

“Yes.” She puts her hands on either side of my head and takes her weight off my body. Looks me in the eye. “I’m not ready for you to see me completely naked.”

“Can I get naked?”

“I’m not ready for that either, Ezekiel.”

“You told me you’re not a prude.” Cue a mental image of me as a kid throwing a tantrum.

“I’m not.”

“Worshipping each other’s bodies over our clothes is the definition of prude.”

She turns her head. Brushes her eyelashes on my forehead. Gives me a breathtaking view of her tits when her tank top hangs low.

“If we finish our game without our clothes, I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold back with you.
